Event Two Description: Our staff, parents, and students will be operating the registration booth for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event. The contest will be that the participants will write their own creative story and turn it into a book. The winner will be who makes the most creative story that will be judged by our staff. Event Description: The staff of Sylvan Learning in Silver Spring will read aloud to 54 pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students at Saint Camillus School. Sylvan staffers will wear Dr. Seuss hats and distribute Sylvan embossed pencils, erasers, and apples for the teachers. We are also planning to have a question and answer session with the children to demonstrate the importance of listening and the joy of reading.

Tuesday, March 4 - "My Favorite Book Cover"- Students will draw a new cover for their favorite book.

Event One Description: Sylvan Learning of Prince Albert and Coles Book store is sponsoring a children's book drive during the month of March. The books from the drive will be presented to the Prince Albert Family Network during the Literacy Gala on March 25, 2008. Each book that is given will receive a ballot for a draw for a "Family Evening," which will be drawn at the gala event. At the gala, former NHL hockey coach, Jacques Demers, will be a keynote speaker. He publicly admitted his illiteracy after he retired from coaching professional hockey.

Event Two Description: Celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday! At the Prince Albert Sylvan Learning Centre in Prince Albert, students (children and teenagers) are reading a Dr. Seuss book aloud every day during transition time. During the week of March 3 — 7, we're making a draw every day for a Dr. Seuss book.
